The XL1000SD Sinapi Chest Drain is custom made for post-cardiac surgery patients. It has a double inlet making it possible to monitor the drainage volumes of two sepatrately positioned chest catheters. It is fitted with a tube roller and high negativity vent. The tube roller facilitates stripping of the tubing to remove clots,  maintaining patency. Stripping, however, can generate transient high levels of negative intra-thoracic pressure which can be detrimental to tissues and areas being drained. The high negativity vent, positioned in the connector of this Sinapi chest drain, ensures that excessively high negative pressures cannot be achieved during this procedure. Using the Sinapi tube roller and high negativity vent therefore results in effective drainage and a reduction in blocked chest catheters without the risk to the patient.
